With 2017 right around the corner so is the prime time of the year to get in shape and ready for the summer beach season. Here are a few fitness trends you can expect to see (as well as many others!) and even try yourself in the upcoming year:

  1. Get Fit With Defense
  2. Why not kill two birds with one stone? More and more people use defense training in 2016 and the trend is expected to continue to be on the rise in 2017. Whether it’s cardio kickboxing or martial arts there will be a load of options for you to choose from!

  3. Fitness Tracking Meets Technology
  4. 2016 was a huge year for Fitness Trackables. These are any device you can use while you workout that track your progress – things like: heart rate, miles ran, etc. The market for these exploded in 2016 with companies like Garmin and Apple leading the way. You even may have seen a few commercials for these in the past twelve months.

  5. H.I.I.T Continues To Be A Hit
  6. H.I.I.T or High Intensity Interval Training was on the rise last year and will continue to be this coming year as well. For those of you who don’t know H.I.I.T is cardiovascular exercise with short one to three minute bursts of extreme intensity followed by five or so minutes or slower cool downs repeated over the course of thirty minutes to an hour. Get ready to H.I.I.T it in 2017!

  7. Experimentation
  8. Experimental workouts will become much more of a craze in 2017 as well. Things like yoga and semi-submersed cycling classes will explode into popularity. Be on the look out for the sort of workouts that might best peak your interest! The best workout is one you don’t need to focus on!
