Learning to Lead Intensive is for those who want to explore the discipline of leading a rock climb. The safest and fastest way to learn the skills necessary for this is under the supervision of a trained professional. We review gear and gear placement and removal, anchor construction and equalization, belay systems and emergency rappel anchors. We discuss modern gear as well as old gear that is still relevant. Problem solving scenarios are covered as are strategies for retreat. Our methods and system for achieving this is more efficient and safer than other climbing schools and we are better able to prepare students for leading safely because of it. This course is offered in the two disciplines of either Sport climbing OR Traditional climbing. The cost is the same for either style. Ratio is never more than 3:1 and is frequently less. Year-round by private appointment.
PRICE: $300 1:1, $425 2:1, $650 3:1

Making the Transition from Indoor to Outdoor climbing can be challenging. The movement and climbing skills are similar but the technique and process of "reading the rock" is different from indoors. Belaying skills are different and there are objective dangers outside which are never encountered indoors. Learn how to notice, handle and avoid a dangerous situation before it happens. A full day of fun and challenging climbing allows you to progress into outdoor climbing with greater safety, enjoyment and understanding.
PRICE: $275 1:1, $400 2:1, $550 3:1, $600 4:1
